Description:

The main function of a Network Analyst is to provide support for Lync/Skype for Business and its services to our large corporate customer in a dynamic, collaborative environment. This team troubleshoots break/fix issues and brings them to resolution, takes escalations from other groups, collaborates with engineering and support teams across IT to resolve complex issues, coordinates major incident responses to high impact issues, creates technical documentation for other support teams, and tests functionality of new devices and configurations before they reach production. Skype for Business experience is helpful, but not required. This team is the mid-level support for 40,000 + end users for Lync/Skype for Business. Members of this team troubleshoot wide scale issues, identifying product bugs and providing feedback/collaborating with the appropriate Product Groups.
Responsibilities:

  • Team troubleshoots break/fix issues and brings them to resolution, takes escalations from other groups, collaborates with engineering and support teams resolve complex issues, coordinates major incident responses to high impact issues, creates technical documentation for other support teams, and tests functionality of new devices and configurations before they reach production
  • Data entry for provisioning.
  • Troubleshoot wide scale issues, identifying product bugs and providing feedback/collaborating with the appropriate Product Groups

Requirements:

  • Must have strong knowledge of Windows OS and its functions
  • Minimum 3- 5 years of IT troubleshooting experience required or equivalent
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills are essential
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Suite of applications
  • Capable of learning quickly from on-the-job training
  • Ability to identify knowledge gaps and ask questions relevant to furthering your knowledge
  • Able to work independently as well as within a team
  • Self-reliant, resourceful, self-motivated
  • Be a detail-oriented problem solver
  • Possess proficiency in understanding: Internet/intranet networking, Active Directory, TCP/IP troubleshooting, DNS troubleshooting, wireless routers, firewalls, VLANS, servers and gateways, PC hardware such as Video Cams and USB Headsets, MS Exchange, telephony/Enterprise Voice, PowerShell and CLI, scripting/coding, and diagnostic tools
  • Bachelor’s degree or Post-Secondary education 

Must Have:

  • 3-5 years of experience overall experience. (Lync back end server, knows how to provision people)
  • Supporting skype (skype for business) as an administering or other similar tools like same time (ibm), office communicator, (it wouldn’t be a facebook messenger) (3-5 years of experience)
  • Excellent communication skills- Help desk and customer service experience with end users and customers
  • Nice to have: Microsoft Certified, Lync Certification, experience with microphones, audio, webcams etc.
  • Experience working with end users in corporate/enterprise environment desirable
  • Lync / Skype Desktop Client experience or Lync / Skype -related certification preferred
  • SQL knowledge/experience a plus
